About the Camps individual sessions. 

To attend each section please be sure to sign up for the session or session(s) that you would like to atttend.

 

 

Infield/Outfield Defense Camp  Session 1 9:00AM-11:00AM  

This camp is a defensive instructional showcase camp in which campers will be able to showcase their defensive ability.  Campers will learn NIU specific baseball drills and will be individually  evaluated. We will train in the areas of footwork, pre pitch mechanics as well as arm strength and baseball fielding concepts. This camp is designed to maximize exposure as well as improve an individuals baseball skills. All campers are responsible for providing their own equipment. 

 

Hitting Camp  Session 2 11:30AM-1:30PM 

This camp is an offensive instructional showcase camp in which campers will be able to showcase their offensive ability at the plate (hitting) as well as running a 60 yard dash.  Hitting instuction will be provided by the NIU Baseball camp staff.  All hitters will work on NIU everyday drills and be evaluated. This camp is designed to maximize exposure as well as improve an individuals baseball skills. All campers are responsible for providing their own equiptment. 

 

Pitcher/Catcher Camp  Session 3 2:00PM-4:00PM

Pitching and Catching instructional showcase camp in which campers will be able to showcase their Catching Defensive ability (for Catchers) or their Pitching talents on the mound. Instruction will be provided by the NIU Baseball camp staff. This camp is designed to maximize exposure as well as improve an individuals baseball skills. All pitchers will be evaluated using Rapsodo technology.   All campers are responsible for providing their own equipment. 

 

 

About the Camp

This camp is an instructional showcase camp where campers will showcase their ability in front of members of the NIU Baseball Coaching Staff. All campers will receive positional instruction, hitting instruction, and/or pitching instruction. This camp is designed to maximize exposure as well as improve an individuals baseball skills. All campers are responsible for their own equipment including glove, bat, catchers gear, and helmet. 

 

Who is Eligible?

Male or Female baseball players in 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades and in junior college are eligible for enrollment. The NCAA stipulates that the camp or clinic is open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and or gender. 

 

Rules and Regulations 

Campers must abide by rules and regulation set forth by Northern Illinois Universty. Any violation of NIU policies or damage to NIU property as well detrimental behavior that interfers with other campers or camp staff is stricly forbidden. Any such behavior is subject to expultion and forfiture of all camp fees.  

 

Refund Policy

NO refunds will be given for ALL types of cancellations made after December 19, 2021. 

 

Facilities

Chessick Indoor Practice Facility- The camp will be held in the Chessick Indoor Practice Facility. Please be prepared to wear sneakers or molded cleats while inside. NO METAL SPIKES will be permitted in the Chessick indoor facility. 

 

What to Wear

Proper baseball attire is to be worn including baseball pants. A camp shirt will be provided and to be worn during camp. Metal spikes are STRICKLY forbidden in the Chessick Indoor Practice Facility, sneakers or molded cleats are permitted. Masks must be worn at all times per NIU Campus COVID Policy.
