The APU Acrobatics and Tumbling Day Camp conducts a one day camp during the summer designed to teach the fundamentals of acrobatics and tumbling to grades 6th-11th.  Fundamentals are taught in addition to life skills such as respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, teamwork and the importance of education. Participants are grouped based on age and skill level.     

The day camp is designed to provide younger players with a solid foundation of the fundamentals. The camp is run by the APU coaching staff, as well as current athletes.  Check-in takes place between 8:30 and 9:00AM and the camp itself runs from 9:00AM to 5:00 PM each day.

The day camp is located at Azusa Pacific University in the Felix Event Center on the West Campus.

Lunch is included in the registration for all campers!

WHAT TO BRING :
All campers should wear a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes.

INSURANCE AND MEDICAL CARE:

Each camper must be covered by his or her parent's medical insurance. If your athlete is injured and needs to be taken to Emergency, we will attempt to contact you first. If we are unable to contact you immediately, your child's safety is our first concern and he will be taken to the proper medical facility. Please fill out medical release form and have it present when you arrive at camp.

Colleen Kausrud Colleen Kausrud

Head Coach

 
Coach Colleen Kausrud is in her 15th year as Azusa Pacific University’s head coach, and has an extensive background in competitive cheer, acrobatics and tumbling, and fitness training. Kausrud has been the West Coast representative for the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders (FCC), coaching and instructing at numerous camps and clinics. For four years, she was the competition coach at Western Christian High School in Covina, California, during which time the team won several championships. Kausrud is certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA), is president of the National Christian Fitness Association (NCFA), and is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified fitness and kickboxing instructor.
 
Kara Willard
Assistant Coach 
 
Coach Kara is in her 6th year as assistant coach. She has a background in competitive cheerleading, gymnastics and acrobatics & tumbling. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2012 and competed as a student athlete in the first two years that the program was established. During her coaching career she also has recieved her Masters in Leadership Development from Azusa Pacific University.
