LETU All Skills Camp

Incoming 6th-8th grade 

July 6th and 7th

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. each day

 

All Skills Camp will teach every skill in the game of volleyball. They will participate in drills and live game scenarios and scrimmages. This camp provides campers a fun, competitive and educational experience while learning the game and enhancing their skill. All drills are designed for the camper to not only improve on their skill but also to enjoy their experience in a fun atmosphere. Our goal is to prepare our campers to be ready to play on their school teams. Those attending camp will be working under Head Coach Mallory Matthews and her current players who set the school record for wins in a season this past year. 

 

LETU Elite Camp 

Ages 14-19

July 8th and 9th

Elite Camp is going to cover all skills in the game of volleyball. This camp is designed for all levels to compete in a fun and competitive atmosphere. The campers will be participating in college level drills designed to enhance their skill and improve fundamentals. Our goal is to prepare our campers to be knowlagebale and competitive on their school and travel teams. Those attending camp will be working under Head Coach Mallory Matthews and her current players who set the school record for wins in a season this past year.

Mallory Matthews

Mallory Matthews was named the 18th head coach in LeTourneau Volleyball history on Friday, June 7, 2019. 

In her first season with the YellowJackets, Matthews earned American Southwest Conference East Division co-Coaching Staff of the Year honors after guiding LeTourneau to a program-best 18-14 record and ASC semifinals appearance. The Jackets finished second in the East with an 8-6 mark. Kianna Crow was named the ASC East co-Most Valuable Player after breaking the season record for kills. ASC East Freshman of the Year Setter Natalie Davenport broke the school record for assists, while ASC East Libero of the Year Cam Taylor broke the record for digs. 

Matthews joined the LeTourneau Athletics family after spending the past two seasons at the University of Texas-Tyler, where she was an assistant under head coach Lyndsay Mashe. Matthews also coached the East Texas Juniors Volleyball Club for four seasons, and worked camps in Mansfield, Spring Hill, Hallsville and Beckville.

The Mansfield, Texas native has deep ties to the American Southwest Conference, having spent all four years of her playing career at East Texas Baptist University, where she was named 2013 ASC East Division Freshman of the Year, 2015 ASC East Division Most Valuable Player, earned three ASC All-Tournament team selections, and was a 2015 AVCA All-American. Matthews finished her career as a Tiger with 1,448 kills and 1,222 digs, and ranked in the top 10 in kills, aces, digs and blocks at ETBU. 

A December 2016 graduate of East Texas Baptist, Matthews holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, and also earned her master's degree in kinesiology from Texas-Tyler.
